Iranian youths help people at border + Photos

A group of Iranian young people has rushed to provide assistance to people living near the border with Afghanistan as giving charity has become a habit of many people in the Islamic Republic.

In Islam, there is obligatory charity “Zakat”, which is paid to the needy people and other eligible recipients, and voluntary charity “Sadaqa”, which can be given to anyone and has many forms, including giving money, sharing knowledge, or even meeting people with a smiling face.

As part of their charitable activities, some 90 young people of the Jihadist group of the Special Division of South Khorasan’s Martyrs travelled to the area of Lano, about 24 kilometers from the Afghan border, in Sarbisheh County in the Iranian province of South Khorasan.

Jihad is an Arabic word, which means struggling and working hard to achieve a praiseworthy goal. Muslims pursue and respect Jihad but not as Takfiri militant groups interpret it.

The group provided different forms of assistance, including the examination of 1,200 patients in 10 villages of the region by the best specialist physicians.

They also offered different courses to the students and distributed 500 sets of clothes and 200 stationary packs among them.

The held activities also included sport competitions between 15 teams of youngsters where prizes were awarded to the top three contenders.
